The smallest are getting bigger!

Although a landlocked country - Austria and its marine equipment industry are a proof that regardless of the geographical location, leadership in selected segments of technology may secure an active participation in the global shipbuilding and shipping arena.

Pudong - the venue of Marintec China has become not only a showcase of the exciting economic progress of the city of Shanghai, it has become also a synonym for China being the powerhouse of the world economy - and shipbuilding is at the forefront of this breathtaking evolution! It is a place where high class expertise from the cradle of modern shipbuilding, and the drive of a dynamic industrial nation, provide a perfect environment for both maintaining well-established friendships and creating new business relationships.

Austrian companies have been closely observing how Chinese shipyards are making great advances in building an integrated system viable for both commercial and military purpose.
A stand actively supported by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and AMEM was shared by nine Austrian exhibitors. All leaders in their particular field of expertise, have experienced a vibrant show and will continue focusing on the rapidly expanding Chinese marine market.

But Austria was also present in some of the numerous activities occurring over these five days. The highlight of the opening ceremony was the Radetzky March from Johann Strauss played by a band of the PLA Navy, the first Cimac Circle in China was chaired by Karl Wojik from AVL List, Graz and last but not least the Happy Hour on the Austrian Pavilion which has shown the potential of becoming a date in the event calendar of the Marintec China nobody wants to miss.
