The third Busan International Shipbuilding Marine Exhibition, Marine Week 2005, the premier event in the region, has become the showcase of the worlds largest shipbuilding nation and a venue for the exchange of state-of-the -art information on a high international expert level, professionally supported and organized by Reed Exhibitions Europe and K-Fairs Korea.

Kormarine 2005 was an extremely successful show for 6 Austrian companies sharing a common area of more than 120 sqm, the biggest ever participation from this landlocked, alpine country in the heart of Europe, doing so well both in the civil and military equipment sectors of the shipbuilding industry.

The Viennese Cafe - a first of its kind – on an Austrian Pavilion turned out to be a tremendous success thanks to the original Sacher Torte, the excellent coffee along with the fresh, sparkling water from the Alps, the famous music of Johann Strauss played by a Korean piano player - Jeong-Hwa Kim - creating the unmistakeable atmosphere of Austrian hospitality in a vibrant, highly professional and completely different cultural environment.

The naval component of this well balanced exhibition culminated in a reception on board the destroyer Moon Moo in Busan Harbour at Pier 8, hosted by the ROK Navy on October 6. 2005.

The Austrian Trade Delegate Werner Somweber who had been contributing such a good deal to the perfect preparation of the participation of the Austrians, visited every exhibitor accompanied by the recently appointed Honorary Consul in Busan – Byoung Mun Lim.
