SMM 2004 saw 12 Austrian companies participating in the world’s largest exhibition on shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology. Six of them were sharing a common booth designed and contracted by AMEM – the largest ever national pavilion in Hamburg.
The strategic dimension of shipbuilding was stressed by the fact that German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder took the patronage of the SMM for the third time.
SMM has proofed to have a reputation for stimulating and tracking business and technology trends in world shipbuilding. The very strong Austrian diesel engine community enjoyed attending the traditional CIMAC Day and discussing latest developments for internal combustion engines.
The Austrian exhibitors’ “Heurigen” reception featuring original Viennese music, wine and food was well attended by business partners and friends from all over the world.
